Leighton Messter recently wore this fun Catherine Malandrino colorblock dress to a party in LA. Though I'm sure everyone would like to steal her look, not all of us have GOssip Girl sized bank accounts so here's an alternative from Romeo and Juliet Couture. Pretty similar, no?

The mafia never looked so fetching
Though the freshly premiered dramedies 'Lipstick Jungle' and 'Cashmere Mafia' are both clumsy attempts at recreating 'Sex and the City,' 'Cashmere' had turned into my Thursday night guilty pleasure while 'Lipstick' just makes me...sad. My first gripe with it: Brooke Shields. Need I say more? My second gripe is its attempt to be serious. At least 'Cashmere Mafia' concedes to its vapid nature and embraces it. And there's one more thing that makes 'Cashmere Mafia' ten times better than 'Lipstick': the clothes, of course. Patricia Field has definitely not lost her knack and I find myself constantly swooning over Lucy Liu's outfits. Though her clothes can be outlandish, everything ends up looking chic on her.

Spring Trends: From Runway to Reality
Seems as though the tagline "bold is beautiful" is behind many of the trends seen on the Spring '08 runway. The bold neon colors and feathery details may be fun to drool over but if taken straight from the catwalk to the streets, there is the great risk of looking more clownish than cool. Here are some suggestions for incorporating these trends into your daily wardrobe.

Miu Miu Clutch
Though I don't usually fancy clutches that are large enough to double as a dog carrier, I had to overlook this detail when it came to the Miu Miu tie dye clutch. The clutch is seriously about a foot high, but its plum color, pleats, and tie dye detail won my heart and banished any negative feelings about it. I kept imagining all the multiple uses for it: a handy face cover for when I want avoid someone, a fancy carryall for my lunch and mid-day snacks, or simply an excuse to dress up in order not to be out-done by my extremely good looking bag. I knew it had to be mine but, alas, its $950 tag forced me to stay far far away. However, while recently perusing through one of my favorite online shopping haunts Topshop, I came across a suitable substitute. Though the clutch is not a literal translation of the Miu Miu bag (especially in size), its tie-dye suede and pleats satisfy me non-the-less. Plus, it retails for about $70.
